ABOUT

WHY ALL THE PICTURES?

At National Forest Camper you will find information about national forest campgrounds, landmarks, and other scenic areas of our national forests. Most of the information found here will be in the form of pictures. Some entries will have written accounts of my visit as well. Others will not. Some of my most favorite campgrounds have been found by stumbling onto a blog in which someone has posted a few pictures of their stay. Pictures tell me a lot about a place and whether or not I want to make camp there. What is the tree cover like? Pines? Hardwoods? Does the creek run near the sites? How close are the sites together? How big are the sites?

I hope the pictures I have posted here are as helpful as the ones I've come across in others postings. As I find the time I am going thru posts and filling in a description of my visit as well as other campground information and what it was like to stay there. I will be staying away from posting specific info that may change from year to year or is better accessed using the national forest website (camping fees, season open/close dates, etc).
